Leather couch
If you have ever gone to the furniture store and seen a leather couch
that looks perfect for you, you know how hard it can be to think about
not buying it. The fact is that if it looks good and you can afford
it, chances are most people will buy it on the spot.
In order to prevent buyer’s remorse, here are some things to
consider before making the leather furniture purchase:
• Weight – If the couch is especially light, chances are
it is made out of cheap metal or a hollow kind of wood that is not as
heavy as other wood might be. Before buying, take a moment to look at
the model at the store and see if it moves around very much. Give it
a little lift on one side to see how heavy it is. If it feels very light,
you may be better off passing on it.
• Height – Always bring your tape measure and the dimensions
of the space available in your home. Couches in showrooms are often
placed on small platforms, just about six to twelve inches above the
floor. If you haven’t pre-measured the furniture to fit your space,
when you set the couch up in your own home, the couch is going to seem
almost like it shrunk.
A leather couch will make a great addition to your home. Any leather
furniture should be considered just as carefully as buying any other
furniture.
